Sometimes I look at my old art/writing and cringe really hard. Like I can see what I wanted out of it, and remember what my original intent was, but like 10 years later I'm just really grateful that I now have the tools/knowledge/experience to accomplish what I wanted.
Having a huge disconnect between vision and skill can be really disheartening, so if you ever feel that way about your art, just keep working at it. It's ok to go back and redraw things years later, too, once you learned new stuff.
